Fantasy Or Reality?

For children of this age, the line between fantasy and reality is still blurry, which may explain a toddler's penchant for telling lies. Her intent isn't to deceive you; she actually wants to please you and she's figuring out what to say to make you happy -- even if it isn't true. The best way to handle these little lies is to keep your anger or frustration in check. Instead of expecting a confession, act on what you know. For example, if she says she didn't draw with her crayons on the wall but you can see the marks, help her clean them up and point out that crayons are for colouring books and paper. Make it less scary for her to tell the truth and you'll help avoid fibbing.

A Project with the Kids : LITTLE LIBRARY : Part 3

This is a video covering the Short Story created by Imran (4y11m), read by Farish (7yo)

Objective of sharing - so that we can all practice this with our lil ones at home. It's a great quality time that everybody actually enjoys... Seriously, it's a very simple activity. As you can see, I don't have to do much, really.

Steps :

1. To prepare the materials as shown here in the website: http://www.craftingconnections.net/the-blog/little-library-a-10-minute-project/

2. Instead of using a stapler, I uses a CelloTape (kes tak jumpa cari stapler.. :D).

3. Provide your children with Pencil Colours or Crayons or anything for them to draw. 

4. Ask your children to draw a story - as can be seen in the video.

- In the video, Imran did it from left to right, it was after completing all his drawing that he realises he did it that way. But I ensure him that it's alright. This is our first time doing it. 

5. Write the story:

- Farish at 7yo is able to write down his own story.

- Imran at 4yrs11mths - He narrates the story and I wrote it down for him.

DONE! 

Results : They were so excited! Imran especially kept on holding to his book and kept on repeating his reading. If you can see in the video read by Farish, there are a number of new words introduced e.g. sneaks, failed, etc... 

It was amazing to see how excited the kids were.. Parents got excited too!!

Real Tools, Real Work, Real Confidence

Ada sesuatu berkenaan perkara ini, yang jika diberikan tugasan dan tanggungjawab tersebut pada anak-anak, membuatkan mereka merasakan diri mereka sangat di perlukan oleh ibubapa mereka. Semangat mereka berkobar-kobar, motivasi mereka meningkat, seolah-olah, ibubapa sangat bergantung pada kewujudan mereka. Ini membuatkan mereka merasakan hadirnya mereka dalam sesebuah keluarga adalah sangat di hargai.

Secara psikologinya, ini membina keyakinan diri mereka. Sangat bertentangan jika apa yang kita lakukan adalah 3 perkara yang anak2 tidak mahu dengar dari kita sebagai ibubapa mereka (lihat post saya sebelum ini: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=553848508007923&set=a.535810639811710.1073741826.535779603148147&type=1&theater ).

Ya, perkara ini sangat penting dalam menanamkan sikap responsible and belonging dalam sesebuah keluarga. InsyaALLAH, jika perempuan, akan menjadi Isteri yang baik dan jika lelaki, akan menjadi suami yang baik.
