Punishment

Dear Parents, Teachers, Educators, Students of Early Childhood :
Do you really think PUNISHMENT is everything?

3 THINGS YOUR CHILD WISHES YOU WOULDN’T SAY

Do you know what your child is actually hearing from you?

Consider the possibility that between all the I-love-you’s, your child may be receiving messages that undermine the love you try to show.

Stop and consider if you say any of these 3 things that damage your relationship with your child.

1. What you say when you’re upset

In the heat of the moment, our most negative judgments often rise to the surface.

What you say to your child and about your child when you’re upset reveals a lot about what you believe about your child. And those words stick.

If you find yourself making judgments about your child when you’re upset, identify those negative beliefs and clear them from your life. If you don’t have negative feelings about your child, they won’t come out inadvertently.

2. What you say when they’re not around

Do you complain about your children when they’re not around? Do you complain about how difficult or time-consuming they are?

This can be an indication that you have not taken care of yourself the way you need to—and you’re taking it out on your children.

Resentment like this can damage a parent-child relationship and make your children feel like burdens, rather than gifts. Go take care of yourself and stop complaining.

3. What you repeat from your own childhood
Think back to that moment when a parent or teacher made you feel hurt or stupid. It was probably just something they said in passing, but it stuck with you all these years.

If you were silenced, belittled, or shamed as a child for who you were, you may inadvertently re-create that pattern in your child’s experience in surprising ways.

Choose to create a healthy pattern TODAY

It’s never too late to help your child heal

When you recognize your negative patterns or energies show up in your parenting, go to your child in a private conversation, acknowledge the pattern and work through whatever you need to.

Then give your child the voice you never had by teaching them words that empower them.

I asked my own children to use these words when they felt I had slipped into a negative or hurtful pattern: “Please change your tone”

They did. And I am so grateful.

God bless you in creating a relationship where your child always feels safe with you.

Imran Reading Bahasa Using Phonics

Sebaliknya, based on English Phonics yang dia dah tahu, saya cuma katakan, dalam Bahasa - bunyinya lain sedikit iaitu .....
alhamdullillah - sangat membantu.

Tips For Teachers/HomeSchooling Moms

How to Create a Teacher Planning Binder
Step 1 :  Choose your binder and dividers. Choose the number of dividers that will help you accomplish your main goals. Select only what you really need and need to be able to take with you. My recommendation is 5-8 tabs or categories.
Tabs to consider:
  • Lesson Plans
  • Calendar/School Disctrict Calendar
  • To-Do List
  • Student Roster/Contact Information
  • Standards
  • Curriculum Maps
  • Staff Meeting Notes
Step 2 : Get yourself a cute cover and personalize it.
Step 3 : Add your papers and files behind each tab so that you can reference it when you need it.
Consider papers and files that you need to carry when you're on the go (but not every piece of paper your desk comes in contact with)

Tips For Arts & Crafts : Play Dough

3 Easy Recipes for

Making Homemade Play Dough

Recipe 1
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1.5 cups salt
  • 6 tsp. cream of tarter
  • 3 tbsp. oil
  • 3 cups water
Pour all ingredients into a large pot. Stir constantly over medium heat until a dough ball forms by pulling away from the sides. Knead dough until the texture matches play dough (1-2 minutes). Store in plastic container. Should last for at least 3 months.

Recipe 2
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 3/4 cup water
Have your child mix the baking soda and corn starch in a pot. Use hands to make sure all the lumps are broken up. Add water. The adult should put the pan on the stove over medium heat and stir constantly. As soon as the mixture gathers together, remove from the heat. When it cools, have your child knead it into a smooth dough. Don't over cook this dough or it will crumble.

Recipe 3
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup water
Have your child mix the flour and salt in a bowl then add water. Knead and squeeze the dough to make a clay consistency. You may need to add more water. Note: This dough doesn't last as long as the cooked recipes.

Ideas!
Divide into sections, then knead in food coloring (liquid or paste). Kids love making the white play dough change colors. Use unsweetened Kool-Aid for color and scent. Add glitter for sparkly play dough.
Play dough can be kept in a fridge and last for 3 months if you wrap it nicely in a food plastic wrapper.

HAPPY TRYING!!!

#1: Understand your Children

To understand them, you must first ASK (to start the conversation) then you LISTEN (to show that you really CARE). Provide EMPATHY if needed (try putting yourself in their shoe and feel what they are feeling - be sensitive).
When they feel like they can really rely on you, they will start building TRUSTS - NEVER BREAK THIS TRUST!

Results : They become happy - They are able to solve their problem - They have a strong mind - They communicate well - and many more positive vibes!

Happy Practising!!!

Waktu Tidur Anak-anak

Salam Ramadhan Semua (1st day)

Waktu tidurlah anak2 membesar, and brain develops.

  • 1-4 minggu : 15-18 jam sehari - waktu siang - banyak short nap
  • 1-12 bulan : 14-15 jam sehari
  • 1-3 tahun : 12-14 jam sehari - 2x tidur waktu siang - around 10am & 2pm
  • 3-6 tahun : 10-12 jam sehari - 1x tidur waktu siang - biasanya 1.5 - 2jam
  • 7-12 tahun : 10 - 11 jam sehari

- What time does your son goes to sleep at night?
- Saya : At around 8pm. (masa ni anak saya umur 4-5 tahun)
Mereka terkejut dan kata, NO!! You should let him sleep at 7pm. So that the child would get a good sleep, and that you would have enough time to rest for yourself.
Saya kaget sebentar.
Hujung minggu, saya benarkan mereka extra masa sedikit - Syukur Alhamdullillah system PBS tak bnyk homework.

Saya kurang gemar melihat anak-anak stay up late until 12pm.

Selamat mencuba!!!

Sedikit penerangan berkenaan Multiple Intelligences by the founder :
Professor Howard Gardner himself.

Highlights:
  1. If you use only 1 method of teaching - this is an UNFAIR EDUCATION SYSTEM! Because each of us has DIFFERENT INTELLIGENT STRENGTHS!
  1. Our common Myths: To attend schools is to READ BOOKS and ATTEND LECTURES --> Then to TEST whether you know it or not ---> this is WRONG!!! We should be able to know how to use/apply what we learn in real life situations.. This is the real LEARNING
  1. Assessment in schools should not be only TESTS! But to be able to SELF-ASSESS --> What do you think is good or not good? How well do you think you could achieve it? How would you improve yourself.

There are more that you could get from what Gardner is saying. Hope this is useful!

  • Biar sedikit tetapi berterusan (little and often): Elakkan pembacaan yang terlalu lama.
Tanpa mereka sedari, mereka sebenarnya sedang berlatih membaca.
